Fourteen Buford Football Players Sign to College Football on National Signing Day

It’s the day every high school football player dreams of, the day on which he signs his name on the dotted line, choosing which university he will play football at for the next four years.

It’s National Signing Day, and for 14 Buford High School seniors, it’s their day to cherish with family and friends. “2016 was an awesome year for the Buford High School Football Team,” Buford Assistant Coach Fyrone Davis said. “We were able to have 14 signees who were great student-athletes with a great future ahead of them.”

Quarterback Mic Roof signed his Letter of Intent to play at UNC Charlotte. His brother, Linebacker TD Roof, will for his father Ted Roof, who is the defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech.  One player has aspirations to serve his country. Defensive Lineman Dean Powell will be taking his talents to West Point while Offensive Lineman Tyler Thurmond has decided to become a Mountaineer, signing with West Virginia.
Two players will be playing for Ivy League schools. Defensive Tackle Connor Mills signed with Princeton and Offensive Lineman Hank White signed with Columbia.
